Thuligad Khola Hydropower Project (17MW)

Thuligad Khola Hydroelectric Project is situated at Badikedar Rural Municipality Doti District, Sudurpaschim Province. Geographically the area lies between latitude 28o 55’ 50” to 28o 58’ 47” N and longitudes 80o 47’ 41” E to 80o 51’ 22” E.The proposed project area lies at an elevation between 512.5 masl to 686 masl.

Thuligad Khola is a Perennial River and lies in the karnali basin of Nepal. Thuligad Khola is one of the tributaries of Karnali River. Thuligad Khola catchment contributes 640 km2.

The project area lies in the Siwaliks zone of Far Western Nepal. The Main Boundry Thrust (MBT) separates the Lesser Himalaya and Siwaliks, which lies about 1 km upstream of the headworks area.

The gross head of the project is 173.50 m and utilizes the net head of 155.5 m to give an installed capacity of 17 MW and a total of 100.902 GWh annual energy after outage out of which 11.56 GWh will be peak dry energy 19.19 GWh will be off peak dry energy and 70.13 GWh will be wet energy.

The project is being developed by Om Power Company Limited.
