UPPER MADI 0 KHOLA HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT

Upper Madi 0 Khola Hydroelectric Project area is located in Sikles Rural Municipality of Kaski District, Nepal. Geographically, the project area lies between latitudes 28° 22′ 00″ N to 28° 25′ 30″ N and longitudes 84° 05′ 30″ E to 84° 07′ 30″ E, with an elevation range between 1930 meters and 1510 meters above mean sea level. The project is situated on the right bank of the Madi Khola, a snow-fed river originating from the high mountains.

The headworks site is positioned approximately 250 meters downstream from the confluence of Madi Khola and Koyju Khola, while the underground powerhouse is proposed near the confluence of Madi Khola and Tudi Khola, upstream of Sikles village.

The project area lies in the middle-hill to high-mountain environment of northern Kaski. The landscape is highly varied, with lower river valleys gradually rising toward rugged hills and the higher Himalayan mountains. The project region is reached from the Pokhara side, with roads following the Madi valley toward settlements such as Sabi and onward into the project area.

The project is being developed by Annapurna Power Company Pvt. Ltd.
