Chepe Khola Cascade Hydropower Project is a 2 MW run-of-river hydropower project located in Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality of Lamjung District and Hanspur area of Gorkha District, Nepal. The project utilizes the flow of Chepe Khola to generate electricity through a cascade-type development. The project is being developed with the objective of harnessing the available hydropower potential of Chepe Khola and supplying renewable electricity to Nepal’s national power system. The scheme consists of water diversion/intake structures, conveyance facilities, a powerhouse, electromechanical equipment, and associated transmission infrastructure.
The project is being developed by Aashutosh Energy Limited. The project has a planned installed capacity of 2 MW and is expected to contribute approximately renewable, clean energy to the national grid. As a run-of-river project, its electricity generation will depend primarily on the seasonal flow of Chepe Khola, with higher generation generally expected during the monsoon season.
Chepe Khola Cascade Hydropower Project is a small-scale, 2 MW renewable energy project designed to utilize the hydropower potential of Chepe Khola and contribute clean electricity to Nepal’s national grid while supporting local infrastructure and economic development. In a run-of-river scheme, the project generally diverts a portion of the river flow through the intake and conveyance system toward the powerhouse, where the hydraulic energy is converted into electrical energy through turbines and generators. After power generation, the water is discharged back into the river through the tailrace, allowing the natural river system to continue downstream.
